Some of us who have been around forums for a while may not realize that they are not always intuitive and easy to figure out for people who have not used them before. That happened to me when my fiance linked my forum to her younger sister who has not been using the Internet for as long as we have. As such, my fiance suggested that I create a tutorial on how to use forums. If any of you would like to link this to anybody who is having trouble learning how to use forums or use it as an idea for a customized tutorial for your forum, I would welcome it. 🙂

That's probably one reason that I'm always going through UX articles and hopefully getting a little something out of them. The more people who can use a site, the better.

So this is a tutorial on how to use Forums? That’s a pretty good idea. It is true that both younger people and older people don’t know how to use them.

This is a really good idea. Back in the day, I’d try to promote my forums to random people that I was friends with in middle/high school, and it was an ordeal just to explain the purpose of it.

I doubt if many people are going to forums now - unless it's something not on social media, like porn, lol.

Forums today are really complicated and filled with all sorts of things to look at and do. It's definitely overwhelming even for those who have been on forums. I invited a friend to come to CH and she used to be on a dial-up forum with me and it only had 3 main areas to go to if I remember correctly so that was an easy forum to use. She visited Christianity Haven and didn't know where to start or what to click on even when I offered to help her out.

I didn't get to watch the entire video of the OP but I think it's a great help and the more types of aides we have for people the more confident they will be in joining forums!
