Making mistakes all the time and we never tend to learn from them 😛 Jokes we all have to make mistakes then able to release that we have made a mistake and learn from them
I learned that if I'm too strict on the members that they don't want to stick around. I have to grant some leniency on rule breaking that isn't egregious.
Most of us learn from past mistakes, however, interestingly, we are prone to committing new mistakes. We make mistakes again and again. The day we do it correctly, we become successful with our project.
Being humans, we'll always make mistakes. I have no problem in doing so, but I want to be sure I learn from them. Trial & error is how we learn & grow.
I have made many mistakes in my past when running forums and almost all of the mistakes I made I have looked at them and learned where I went wrong and done what I can to prevent doing that again. For example, I always used to rush to open a forum before it even had content and I learned the hard way that was the worst way to start, I now wait and get some content on the forum first and then open up as I feel it looks better that way.
Don't provide resources to a community unless you intend to keep them there for good. Or, don't provide resources behind-the-scenes that could be taken for granted by the staff of that network.
