Leaving free host

Good Evening,

I have a phpBB3 forum with 1800 member and 160,000 posts.

I would like to move this from a free host but I am not familiar with the process.

If someone is willing to do this for me I am happy to pay for their time.

Are you trying to move from a free web host (like 000webhost.com) or from a free forum host (like forumotion.com)?

In that case it can be done but is harder as you don't have access to the database to get a copy to then restore on a new host. There is a converter to scrape your old forum although with a forum your size it will take a while i imagine - https://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtop ... 5&t=861505

There is also data that will be lost such as PM's.

I have never used the converter although I know other users have used it here so might be able to give you more help and let you know how reliable it is.

I've had a look at that thread and seen the convertor but its a little beyond my technical knowledge.

I have done it lot of times before. But a forum of this size will take many hours to convert. Due to frequent power cuts in India (where i live), i might not be able to run it for long.

Wait for any other volunteers and if no one is ready to take the job, contact me and i can give it a try.
