Leaving laptop on over night?
Do you do this? People say its alright leaving it on all night but close the lid so the screen does not heat up and makes it last longer.
Ive also got a laptop cooler to keep it from getting to hot.
As long it isn't on a flat surface or on a cushioned surface were it can't breath it should be fine
You can also leave it in sleep/standby mode as well. I regularly leave mine on overnight in sleep so it's ready to start right up in the morning.
Yeah? It won't exactly explode, unless you by some cheap Dell

Dells implode, not explode.
I just turn it off. It only takes 10 seconds to load back up in the morning, so it doesn't make too much of an impact.
I turn mine off at night as it a old laptop
and it does not take to long to restart in the morning :great:
mine takes 10 mins to start-up so i rarely turn it off
Mine takes about 40 seconds to start up so i turn mine off at night.
I just turn off the laptop since it just takes a few seconds to start up.
I only leave it on if I'm downloading a very big file or scanning for viruses.
I used to leave my old laptop on overnight, but it overheated sometimes, and I would occasionally need to have it upside down.
I done it once left it on 4 days straight and it started acting slower. So I left it off for 1 hour and it worked better. So I start turning off my computer during the night when im not using it.
I leave my laptop and computer on for weeks on end without them being turned off. I normally have a constant sound of music from either due to me hating silence in my house or anywhere. I'm that sort of user that must listen to music every second of his life.
My netbook rarely gets turned off, usually only restarted for updates.
If I have things to do over night, I leave it running with lid close enough that I can stick 2 fingers between the lid and the edge for air movement.
Otherwise, I'll either put it into standby or hibernate.
Usually when I'm downloading stuff, or if I'm all-nighter-ing some assignments. That's about it.
