There's a difference between doing what you have a right to do and doing the right thing.

He did the right thing to do. If anything people should be blaming Miami for putting the 'opt out' option in his contract after a few years. Lebron has done nothing wrong in this situation. Miami gave him that option and he took it.

You seem to think that a professional athlete taking advantage of free agency is wrong. That is interesting logic. 😛
If LeBron James wants to opt out of his contract because he wants to head off elsewhere, he is welcome to do so. If Steve Nash wants to opt into the last year of his contract with the Lakers because he wants the money even though he isn't contributing at all, that is his right as a player.
Let's not play this loyalty nonsense. History shows that franchises aren't loyal to players, so there's really no point in arguing that players are supposed to be loyal to franchises, or the fans of those franchises, for that matter.
Reikoku said:Lebron leaving Miami gave the East some kind of Parity. Kyrie/Love/Lebron isn't as intimidating as Wade/Bosh/Lebron was since those 2 of those guys are legit defensive players, while Bosh is one of the best Pick n Roll defender (though his post D is a little bit lacking). Kyrie/Love doesn't have that intimidating 'D' that the Heat Trio gave.
Heat with Bosh/Wade are still a play-off team. Bulls with Rose coming back and getting Gasol makes them a nice contender. Cavs is probably the team to beat in the East now.

They would have still been contenders. I don't know about you, but LeBron does not have a track record of being a very humble, good guy. He's always been pretty cocky and arrogant, and he doesn't exactly carry his team like somebody like Kevin Durant does.

Finished out his contract? Apparently you are missing the whole purpose of a player option. Player options exist for a reason. Also, Kevin Durant has Russell Westbrook and Serge Ibaka. Westbrook has been hurt some, but he's a beast. Ibaka isn't an offensive player, but he is one of the best shot blockers in the NBA. Kevin Durant is in the running for the MVP award every year for a reason, but he doesn't carry his team either.
