Weird move. He took a four year deal with a team that he's never played for before in the Western Conference. He probably has a few other superstars following him there, but this is still an odd move.
This move is kinda odd now though.
He wanted to build LA up to beat the Warriors.. and now the Warriors signed Demarcus Cousins for $5.3 million for a year.

The fourth year is a player option, so he can jump ship when he's 36, and then sign another max deal. I know LA is great and all, but the decision really confuses me. I'd rather see LeBron lose in the NBA Finals for a few more years in a row, rather than lose in the first or second round of the playoffs.

I'm thinking LA may wait on all of these young pieces to develop, and then LeBron can piggy back off a bunch of young stars for a few years. Even though Golden State keeps defying logic with their signings, they won't be on top forever. Klay may decide to walk. Draymond may decide to walk eventually. The only sure things are Steph and KD, and I wouldn't put money on Steph's ankles. And Boogie Cousins might be really amazing in the playoffs, and then Golden State might have to choose between resigning Klay or Boogie.
