Our community has left XenForo (1.04) for Invision Power Services (3.2). We're still using the default theme for the time being, but will soon offer our members a new theme (style) which will allow them to make their own custom style choices.

Am I missing something? Did xenforo suddenly become horrible without me knowing?

Ah, okay I thought you liked it before 😛
Well, I saw this site and it was sexy on XF, so I wanna know why they switched.

I've always liked the xenforo eye candy myself. IPBoard has some nice themes, but meh...

Wondering what is the best choice between both software, when I look at the details, seems that IPB is more attractive than xenforo, maybe more flexible. I don't know really. But hope you move was done smoothly

XenForo makes for a very good base product and if all your looking for is a simple forum.... XenForo can still be right for you.

But in the end, we've always need a more "community" base product.

Invision offers many features that XenForo originally said they would add, but have decided not to.

Blogs (officially supported)
Photo Gallery (officially supported)
Portal / CMS (officially supported)
Donation / Store system (officially supported AND not dependent on Paypal)
Better user customization
Better user privacy (including an ignore option)
Better security
Better support (from staff)
Better 3rd party modifications
Better 3rd party themes (which we'll soon be using)

This is a surprising switch. I personally really love Xenforo, but with that list of reasons you have provided, I believe you have made a good choice.

You sir, have earned my respect.

It's off-topic but

WTF?! 83473 posts with 397 members and 52 most online?!

No but that's kinda strange. .. members must have been really dedicated to the forum ...

The latest IPB is horrible.
The layout is just not my taste.
It's a good thing we can skin the software, huh?

Just, y'know... sayin'
