There is almost no way to compete against Forum Promotion. I'm sorry, but I keep on seeing new promotion boards open left and right. And it is getting ridiculous.
I even ran my own and it got over 2,000 posts. However, most of the users just came and went. Running a promotion board with FP here is almost impossible.
I just think that before you open a promotion board you should ask yourself these questions:
Why will people come to a new promotion board and not go to FP?
Will you ever be able to compete with FP's 1,000+ posts a day?
Will you be able to hire reliable staff for reviews, packages, and all the other services?
Do you want a forum where the majority are just there for the services and not anything else?
I think you should ask yourself those questions. And this last one...
Will you be able to manage the fact that FP will always be ahead of you?
I just think it's kind of weird how everyone opens a promotion board and only a few are semi-successful.
So before you make a promotion board really think about it.

People open related Promotion forums because they enjoy doing it themselves, Forum Promotion acts as an incentive to those wishing to make their own.
Of course they will not be as big or as popular, but people do it because they like to do it. There are some new boards who want to rival Forum Promotion though that is true, but they are usually the ones that never work out.
I'm thinking about weather I should or not, but I'm steadily thinking not to because I have my current general discussion forum to manage and also to do the reviews on here, so I don't think I will.
I think that if people want to have a go and have one, then they should, but I know what you mean, FP is incredibly successful and it would be extremely hard to beat it.
Why do you think we are COMPETING? We are simply trying to help out other forum owners to get more members. We are not doing it to have the biggest and best promotion forum ever, I personally would hate all the work and maintenance and all of the drama.
Please dont take owning a promotion forum as a stereotype for competition
Well, some people (like Nathan) do it for something to do. They don't insist on competing with FP, they just want something to do so they feel a Promotion Forum can help other people so they make one, doesn't matter really, it doesn't affect FP in my opinion 🙂.
It's not impossible. With the right promotion it could become the next big thing. However most people starting new promotion forums don't know how to promote properly themselves so they end up failing.
I am not saying FP is here to compete. However, I literally seen dozens of new promotion forums springing up. And it is becoming ridiculous. I think people make the promotion boards because they see how successful FP is and they want something that could be the next big thing. I just think it is a waste of time to have a promotion board. It is just way too much work.
The only good thing is it means all I have to do is post a little and get a post exchange from them.
Besides that, why would I be committed to their forum when I am already here at FP? The answer... There is no really good reason (for me at least.)
I am in the process on getting my site on the way, FP's blog might become a slight competitor, but I look at it this way: The content they don't have, I will have and vice versa. The end of the day, both sites will be helping Administrators.
Problem with promotion boards are that the owners think traffic, posts and members. Whereas the users that come often only think of services, links and then leave.
TBH, if i didnt run my own forum, I KNOW for sure that i could create an awesome promotional site.
And ofcourse sites cant compete with FP because Fp has been around way longer.
