So, I personally believe that voting should not be a right given to those of a certain age. I believe voting should be given to those capable of making an educated/responsible decision.

Is it not true that some people abuse their right to vote by voting multiple times, voting because of someone's skin color or some other discrimination, or even not voting at all!

I would love to have the right to vote, but unfortunately, I cannot do so because I am not eighteen years old. I often find myself asking my parents what their views on certain topics are and they don't know and frankly, don't care. It bothers me very very much. Then, they go and vote based on their discriminatory beliefs (I.E. My incredibly liberal parents voting for McCain because Obama is African American.) Frankly, those types of people should not be aloud to vote due to their general ignorance.

I think that anyone who can pass a responsibility evaluation should be given the right to vote. Sort of like getting your temporary license. If you are educated enough to vote, you should be able to.

Some people will say that with voting is a privilege that comes with being able to be drafted. I think that is such B.S. too. Don't even get me started on drafting 18 year old kids who have a future. And what is that B.S. about not letting homosexuals into the army? Well, ya' know what, If I was about to get drafted, I'm suddenly Gay. If they're gonna discriminate like that then they can lose their war for all I care.

Now onto the subject of drinking alcohol. This is my only statement: Americans above the Age of 18 can drive, be drafted, pay taxes, purchase cigarettes, be tried as adults, serve on juries and vote but cannot drink.

What the Eff?!

That is just ridiculous.

Let me know what you all think.

Huh, here (UK) you can be drafted at 16, pay taxes at 16, purchase cigarettes at 18, be tried as adults at 18, serve juries at 18 and vote and drink also 18.

Voting. I would not have voted for Obama because of the same reasons your parents did, but that doesnt mean I dont know whats going on. All it means is I allow my morals to take over and control me. If that means I cant vote, then wtf.

I agree with the drinking, lower it to 18 before I turn 18 -lol-
