Lightning

We had lightning here yesterday evening, and I hear that a house got struck. I am going to be going out soon to see which part of town the house was in.

So, any of you have had any recent experiences with lightning?

We had two pretty severe storms roll through here yesterday. Everyone around us lost power but we were golden. Perks of all of our stuff being underground I suppose.

I guess so. Though last year, a house literally exploded here when struck by lightning, due to not being grounded, or no lightning rod, or something like that.

Recently, no. It's summer time and freaking hot! Not a could in the sky.

I do find lightning to be a fascinating natural phenomenon though. 🙂

I record it, so that I can get a photo out of it at a later date. Since it is easier to get a photo from a video of lightning, than a photo of just lightning. Unless you have one of those cameras that can take hundreds of photos in seconds.

I did think about taking multiple pictures but I'd really like to time the photo as natural as possible. How many people can claim to have done that

Yeah, we have gotten Lightning here a few times. It's kind of cool and scary at the same time haha. 😀

I see lightnings sometimes. Thankfully it never injured me or my loved ones.

I had one fairly recent experience were the sky was almost always lit up from the amount of lightning occurring very little thunder though so it was all either far away or it was not actually coming back down to the ground.

It was crazy to watch though.

There's usually more thunderstorms here in the summer months. Not very fond of them, so I don't really like them. :c The lightning itself looks neat, but at the same time, I don't like it.

It stormed a few days ago and the lightning was so intense, the thunder so loud that we couldn't study (I was in college at the time). It was lovely 😀

When I was on Holidays in Miami, two weeks ago, I saw some pretty cool Lightning at night. I sat on the beach and watched it strike out at sea.

That must have been pretty nice to watch. Wish I could do that here, but I am too far inland to do that.

I LOVE lightning. But only when I'm inside. XD I'm too paranoid about being struck and when I'm outside, my blood is literally replaced with adrenaline. Sometimes I make pics and videos with my HD cam though.

In actuality, it is recommended that you do not go outside when you see lightning going from cloud to ground anyways, since lighting tends to strike anything that poses as a potential quick way to the ground.

Luckily not. Apparently there as a thunderstorm the other day but it was during the night and I was asleep. I heard some thunder but as far as I am concerned, there wasn't any damage which is good.

We have storms a lot this time of the year. Mostly without Lightning though. Recently, one struck in a nearby town.

We barely have any storms where I live. But I did experience a severe storm where it tore up my home phone, DSL Internet, tv and a bunch of other stuff. Had to have an electrician come and fix the wiring at my house.
