The definitive origin story of Buzz Lightyear, the hero who inspired the toy, Lightyear follows the legendary Space Ranger after he is marooned on a hostile planet 4.2 million light-years from Earth alongside his commander and their crew. As Buzz tries to find a way back home through space and time, he is joined by a group of ambitious recruits and his charming robot companion cat, Sox. Complicating matters and threatening the mission is the arrival of Zurg, an imposing presence with an army of ruthless robots and a mysterious agenda.

Going to see this tomorrow. Anyone else gonna see it? Did you enjoy the Buzz’s character in the Toy Story movies?

I doubt I'll be watching this one.

Why?

This film is going to make a lot of money. I’ll be seeing it at some point, but I probably won’t go see it in theaters. I’m sure we’ll rent this with Redbox whenever it becomes available.

It actually was a good movie! Lots of action and suspense for a kids movie.

Apparently there’s a bunch of controversy surrounding this movie because there is a lesbian couple in it. If you seen the movie then you’d know it’s harmless and not even really a main part of the story.

The fact that people get upset over a small scene with a lesbian couple is ridiculous. Straight couples have been a trope since forever, yet they never complain about having a man and a woman kiss in Disney movies. Who cares, it's not like it's an adult scene and it's only for a tiny bit. Other people exist in the world! :V Anyways not to get off topic, my wife and I seen Lightyear with a friend today, and we all three loved it. My friend is a science nerd and came up with a list of stuff they got wrong in the movie. xD Socks was probably my favorite character. I don't like it as much as I like Toy Story 2, but it's better than Toy Story 1.

Socks was so awesome! I wish he was real and I could have one for myself. Lol

I think we’re going to go see this next weekend. Went with Jurassic World instead this past weekend!

No Tim Allen....

No sale. I'm sorry, I can't watch a film without Tim Allen voicing the toy.... Tim even trashed the film.

I can put up with a harmless gay scene, but Tim Allen needs to be in the Buzz Lightyear toy. I can forgive a prequel, but I don't feel anything about this film.

Tim Allen’s character in Toy Story was a toy version of the real Buzz Lightyear from Andy’s favorite movie (Lightyear). That’s why the toy from Toy Story and the real Buzz Lightyear have different voices. At least that’s how I understand it.

This isn't even Toy story

Its in the universe. I understand what you're saying but the story is inside the universe, so the story has to make sense in the storyline.

Eh. I dunno.

I don't know. I feel like Disney wanted to take it out of "Toy Story" and make it it's own thing.
