When I was new in forums, I used to post and then linger for half an hour or so to check on my post if there is a reply. But I guess that is a waste of time considering that I have better things to do. But I still come back time and again to the forum whenever I have the time to log in. How about the mods and the admin, how much time do you spend being logged in on your forum?

At least every hour when I'm awake, which is about as often as most of our members are as well.

I usually check in a few times a day, and usually stay on for an hour or so each time depending if there are others on and are posting as well. I sometimes pop in if we're watching a boring movie or something as well xD

I usually do not wait for my post replies. I visit the forum once daily to get new updates.

I'm kind of surprised by the answers here lol how do you guys keep pushing development?

Well... I am probably the admin that spends the most time on our site, but I don't own it. Community owned and it's "owned" by one of the other admins. We have 3 admins and 5 moderators. I think between them all, there's someone popping on at most times of the day.

Being on all day myself isn't practical. If I'm at work, the forum is on it's own.

I'll put it this way. I spend as much time as I require until I have achieved the goals I have set for that day.

FP is one of the sites, were I love lingering. Because they are some interesting posts here.

Well, as a member of FP, while I am actively engaged here, I tend to linger pretty long, if my schedule allows for it. 🙂

The best time for me to linger on FP, is in the evening because during the day there is hardly anyone it. 🙂

Unfortunately, you can't do that at stores or you get accused of stalking, shoplifting. 😱

That's why I implemented live alerts, I am tempted to enable the thing for *every* post, but that's probably overdoing it. Murphy's Law dictates that I'll end up getting spammed, if I do that, but still tempted.

I actually spend more time watching my view charts than I do watching for posts to see how many users are online and their user agents lol
Sadly, it's usually people attacking me, but it's still nice having suspicious request reports to distract me from the down periods.

Those bots are so sneaky. Sometimes they sneak SQL into the user agents.
