List of must-have MODs for phpBB3 (download + info).

Great list. Anyone know the required edits for simple profile comments on 3.0.9? I tried to install it, but half the required template edits did not exist 🙁
 
Seen a few people concerned about Advertisement Management not working on 3.0.9 but if you download the version from the authors website from the modification page it works perfectly. Well it did for me at least.
 
Quite a nice list of modifications there in the original post. Quite a few of them I've used and would recommend.

Provides members and guests with an easy to read area above the forums for you to post up important announcements and news. You could use this to target only guests, by describing the benefits of your forum/community.

Contact Board Admiistration - http://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/mod/c ... istration/
Acts as a way for guests and/or members to contact the Forum/Board/Community Administrator about problems/complaints/suggestions they may have, which they may not want to post on the Feedback/Suggestion Forum. Alternatively it can be used by guests who are unable to access the site.

ACP User Merge - http://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/mod/user_merge_2/
While I personally prefer users to just have one account, there may be a case when a user has had to register another account due to problems with the 1st one (ie: can no longer access that e-mail & has forgotten his/her password) this way, I'd be able to then merge both accounts together.

I'll be installing them onto my own forum within the next week, when I have time, if anyone's interested in seeing what they look like on a live board. 🙂

No problem, I just thought it was a good idea to contribute to this, I've got a few more which I'll be adding when I find them again, as I've a files on my PC of modifications for the forums I've ran, so it's just a case of finding the links to them again. 🙂
 
All the MODs in here are perfect except for one.

The Ultimate Cash MOD is the only one that won't work with AutoMOD.

You don't need auotmod for them all..it helps but a lil hand coding/editing isn't so bad. Doesn't take that long if you know what you are doing...

Only use the mods you need. Adding more mods then you need is a waste of time and can cause issues later on.
 
I would recommend to check the info pages for the mods before you download because there is a high chance that my download links are out-dated.
