Little Lost // Hosting

Hello,

This is going to sound weird but anyway. I received free hosting from a reseller quite some time ago. So, for my login, I just type in my user name, so for example username, and then my password. In the CPanel, it appears as username.resellerURL.com. However, the reseller shutdown, and removed their domain, but everything still works. The only thing is, I can't use username.resellerURL.com anymore, only the domain I have which is parked on it. Does that sound right? So, if I remove my domain, is there anyway to access the site using the username.resellerURL.com name?

That seems very weird as if the reseller shutdown, but your still able to use their hosting, then they must still exist somehow. If they removed everything that was associated with their domain, I do not know of any way that you will continue to be able to log in. I suggest finding a way to contact anyone that was staff on the reseller that you got your free hosting from.

Yes, I have looked for them and the member from here hasn't logged in for 2 months. I did have one glitch late yesterday where I couldn't log in at all, but now everything appears fine.

Their domain is gone (404 error) and basically all their support and support forum has disappeared.

If you can still access everything, I suggest get all your files asap and move to another server. If they already disappeared, you need to get your files and move away from them before you loose everything.

Yeah, I know. You may want to have a read below. 🙁

Everything was normal until I couldn't access my site. Since my site was hosted by a reseller (I got it for free and unlimited ) I wasn't too sure about the status and other stuff. Anyway, once I couldn't access it, I then checked the support site for it, and it gave a 404 error, meaning the site was deleted and also the domain. That got me pretty wound up, and quite angry that no notice was given via email. So, that domain I had was a gift, so I don't have any control over it, and also, the company that gave it to me also doesn't have control over it :L. So, I decided I should by the .net version of it. I got everything configured and it was all up, and what do you know, my site was back up again. So yeah, pretty annoyed now.

Now, I have made a backup of everything. I'll be sure to make daily backups from now on.
