Hello!
I have my website located in Australia since I am an Australian building an Australian website, I am deciding if I should move my website to Hostgator which is an American service or stick with VentraIP which is an Australian web host, Most of my users are going to be American since America has a bigger population,

So to all my American Friends or even anyone living in the Northern Hemisphere can you test my site speed to help me make this decision!

Cheers,
Fait

Hey @Fait

I did a PageSpeed test here: https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/?url=https://playobserved.com. You have a lot of images on that page so I recommend using webp file types for your images, as it will greatly compress the images compared to .png and .jpeg.

thank you! 🙂
I will get to it, as for the server load how is it for you?
Would American services be better, it's an Australian-based service but anyone in the world can use it if they speak english.

You can always use a CDN to help serve static content way faster, which should help wherever your website is actually hosted at (specifically edge CDNs).

I’d play around with Pingdom’s free tool to test web page for free at a bunch of locations to see what it comes back on average.

My web host gave me that suggestion such as CloudFlare.

It seems to load fast to most American users that it’s a okay sign.

Who are you hosted with now, I say why to move if you are very happy with them 🙂 End of the day it doesn't matter where the site is hosted from, as long as uptime is 99.1% good and also that your site loads up real fast for clients to have any waiting and delaying time.

Your site loads fast for me anyway 😉 From the other side of the world, Get CloudFlare setup anyway, helps with firewall and other super great speed chasing options.

VentraIP 🙂

I think they’re amazing they’re an Australian host based in Melbourne and I’m very happy with them so I have to agree with you on that one.

I still look in to CloudFlare DNS though the faster the better but good to hear that the load time is fast, Since I started developing this site in November and launched it in June it hasn’t crashed once.

I'm in North America, USA. It took a couple of seconds to load but nothing that would indicate to me it is off.
thanks! 🙂
that's normal being in North America but I'm glad it at least loads fast enough.

My Internet is slow at night so my observations are probably not very accurate, but it took a while for just the home page to load for me. I'll do another check in the morning.

No worries!
Even check if you have a 4G connection that helps.

Well, I'm on a tablet is got in 2016, but we're with Midcontenint communications and their load times on almost any site are hit and miss at night.

Midco is an internet/cable company in North Dakota and Minnesota. Not sure how many locations they have.

That would suck 🙁
But definitely get back to me in the morning! 😛

The site located in Australia so for slow internet that be terrible to reach the site.

I've decided to leave it in Australia since that's where I live and it makes sense it being an Australian website and the tech support works well for being within my timezone, If anyone has any issues accessing the website please contact me and I try to make sure the matter is resolved as quickly and as effectively as it can be that's my job as it's my responsibility.

I will now request this to be locked.
