What do you all think of the Lockdown restrictions be eased in England? Are they being lifted to early? Are you comfortable providing your personal information to bar employees? Don't you feel this is an invasion of privacy?

Hospitality and holidays
Restaurants, pubs and cafes in England can reopen from Saturday, providing they follow safety guidelines.:

  • Indoor hospitality will be table service only, with limited contact between staff and customers
  • Customers will also have to give contact details when they enter a pub or restaurant.
  • Businesses will be expected to monitor crowd density in their premises
  • What are the new rules when pubs reopen?
Holiday accommodation - including hotels, B&Bs, cottages, campsites and caravan parks - can also reopen, with households in England allowed to stay away from home overnight. But shared facilities, such as campsite toilets, must be cleaned properly.

Overseas holidays are also back on the cards. From 10 July, travellers from more than 50 countries including France, Spain, Germany and Italy will no longer have to quarantine for two weeks when they enter England.

Can I finally get a haircut in England?
Hairdressers are one of many places allowed to reopen in England from Saturday, as long as they take safety precautions.

You will probably have to make an appointment, not turn up early, try to bring nothing with you, and wear a mask and gown while in the chair.

Other places allowed to reopen include:

As a fellow UK'er, the short answer is yes. I feel as soon as Boris started relaxing things people have become too complacent and I dread to think of people's sensibilities with the pubs re-opening. I'm always seeing selfishness whether it be in the news, or in supermarkets (Though I only go to a smaller one fortnightly, Haven't been near an Asda, Teco or morissions etc in3 months+) first hand. The teenagers think think there invunverable because they "Can't apread it (Allegedlly, kids in general).

I think we Have to be very careful of a wave two, especially with one local lockdown already, more might follow. Autumn will not be that far along, then full blown winter - both full cough and cold season.

Bournemouth Beach is a 5-10 minute walk from my house. I can’t believe some of the crowds and people not using common sense by social distancing. I cannot stress enough that we all need to avoid large groups or gatherings and follow government advice.

A second wave could spell disaster for the economy and the death rate.

Lockdown let up to soon. People already totally ignoring the fact the virus is still out there.

The lockdown is easing where I'm at and we have had almost 5 thousand cases within the past week..... I'm honestly wanting the lockdown to go back into place - it's like no one realizes there's still a pandemic out there, and hospitals cannot fit all the COVID-19 patients, plus those with other emergencies that happen...

What year are you predicting there will be no COVID-19 cases worldwide?

Like 0 cases? Will it be ever? Even with vaccines there are still people in impoverished areas that catch preventable diseases, so I am not sure it will ever be fully "eradicated", just...manageable. I'd say by 2022 the globe will have a handle on it. Not anytime before that though, especially as some countries are still surging.

My main worry is this will lead to disputes as people in severely affected areas turn to the "fight or flight" survival instinct, and with Trump in power, I wouldn't put it past him to start WWIII over supplies for a disease that he claims "has been under control since January" and that he is saving thousands of lives.

Are they being lifted to early?
They must be lifted someday, because our current economic system isn't designed to cope with the crises it creates.

Never, I mean we are still getting new cases of the bubonic plague every year. We might have a vaccine that works and doesn't have too many negative side-effects in like 1-2 years and that will help a lot. But even when we get Covid-19 under control, new pandemics will come until we stop destroying nature.

If all the riots in the U.S. didn't start with the protesting, the U.S. slowly opening up wouldn't be an issue, because you wouldn't have as many stupid people out on the streets not being careful. I am seeing these jumps in the U.S., being a result of people who want to protest without proetction, along with the idiots who think rioting is a "protest".
