Log Horizon

Currently I'm watching Log Horizon: it's a pretty awesome anime! 😀

Similar premise as sword art online: players get trapped inside an MMORPG. Although Log Horizon focuses much more on the mechanics of the game itself than SAO. Overall the setting has more depth, although the characters are less strong (still really good though).

I prefer it over SAO, to be honest. I've watched both seasons of this anime series and it's great, really loved it. I'm hoping for a third season. :]

How far are you into the series, Cosmic?

Log Horizon becomes some kind of politic anime in the end, the relations of the characters gets completely ignored or stuck and has to many side stories not based of the protagonist just like irl novels.
