loggin in "hidden"

Is there a point to loging in and hiding that ur online. Do some people not want to interact with some certain members... That is annoying as those that don't create a profile, or spammers that sign up as "[email protected]".

I guess some people try to avoid receiving a lot of unnecessary PMs. Its just a useful feature that could be used differently on a case-to-case basis.

Sometime people don't like being spied on as any members can access the who is online page and see what you are doing such as what forum you are view, if you are replying, sending pm's and so on. On IPB forums it even shows exactly what topic is being viewed by the user not just the forum so it is sometimes a privacy issue.

Also some people might just not want people knowing their online. -lol-

Im a member on one or two. They arent that bad but I would never own one. Im not a big fan of YaBB (which is the software they use).

I know of morons that had a proboard on their website, I kept putting them in their place... On their forum, everyone they didn't know was a "registered spaz" LOL

There's really no point on a small forum because if you post they'll know you're online, but I can understand if you're a mod at a big site.

I tend to stay hidden on most forum since I like it when it says I'm not online when I just posted. Also harder to know when I'm on just reading random topics.

I sometimes am hidden on other forums if i don't want a certain person to see me online and if i feel like a quite day i used to sometimes make myself hidden on here.
