I need some help designing a logo for my forum. (This is not a plug 😛)

I liked the logo in photoshop, but in application it looks really big, ugly, and not fit in. I haven't really done much logos so would should I take in consideration when designing for this theme?

I would focus on the type and get rid of the background completely. Instead, you should create an emblem that matches your theme and goes along with the text.

Too square, make the backgriund transparent so the words stick out.
