In all honesty, being a graphics forum the banner isn't the best. It isn't up to scratch or as good as it should be. If you want to attract new potential members that want to stick around you want something small, sweet and mouth watering. Tone it down to something simple, sleek and sexy.

I'll take that in to consideration, although not everything fits with this theme.

It seems boring and dull. Considering that it's a graphics forum it doesn't seem to make a good impression for a graphics forum. That honestly would turn me away because the logo on a graphics forum is the first thing visitors would see and what you would expect to get from the site too.

Added a path spiral.. is it any better or worse? Or should I re do the whole thing.

You should rework it to be honest, the added lines across it doesn't really any add any value to it. Harsh I know but for a graphics forum, it doesn't stand out at all.
