As many will be aware, Britain has endured 3 nights of rioting, looting and arson, what began in London has now spread to other areas such as Birmingham, Liverpool and Bristol. Our forces are under mass pressure to control and break up these unruly mobs, often there are not enough services to cope and the youths are left to decimate streets and buildings. Some youths are even breaking down residential doors and entering properties while the owners are sleeping.

What are your views on what's happening in the UK right now?

What's the motivation behind the riots by Britain's youth and what can we do to stop it?

From what I've seen, it's just been an excuse to get some free stuff. Yeah, the guy who was accidentally killed is one thing, but if you look on twitter or other similar sites you see these rioters just want free stuff.

Also, heard that the news outlets in the UK are a cause of this, saying things like "Father of 4 murdered by Police" probably just to make this a bigger deal and get more people involved for more coverage, or at least it looks that way.

I find it an excuse to cause problems. My thoughts are with the police, having to deal with this because of a mistake made by one officer. I have a parent on the streets fighting this mayhem, taking care of the country.

I was out all day in Birmingham for this cricket thing with games and stuff for the build up of the test series between England and India (which looks like the test at Edgbaston is still going on despite the recent riots, according to a tweet I saw on Twitter) Back to the cricket.. It was to finish at 7 pm and the Indian cricket team was coming at 5 pm so we went for a quick pizza hut at 3:15 pm then went back for 5 pm then after a bit it started raining so we decided to go home and I think it was all being packed away because of the rain. ( possibly before 7 pm ) We caught all the trouble just then. My pizza which I took out with me, got knocked out my dad's hands (about two slices) by a group of youths who just broke into a baguette shop and started to fled. We carried on ( without my pizza -.- ) and caught it again outside mcdonalds where we trapped for a bit 'cause they're was police either side to stop people going near the riots. Then again more of them running away just past us when we was heading to the bus stop. Sorry for my life story

Sounds like some fun 22_22, luckily the only thing I ever had to deal with was running away from a group of drunk hooligans on the outskirts of Warsaw with a couple of friends when we accidently aggravated them.

In the Scottish news police from Scotland are been sent to Engand to help which means we will have less police here
There is also take of bringing the Army in to help with the roits
Its the poeple who live there that have to suffer this that I feel sorry for

I feel sorry for these people. I think the police shooting the father is an excuse. The guy that shot the father must be feeling really bad right now. 🙁

I love the part where you say he was accidently killed, he was shot twice after a short stand off.

The riots are just an excuse, although the military hasn't been called in yet, it won't be long.

I swear any little hooligans try to break in to my flat I will bounce them out of the window. Thats if it spreads to Blackpool.

As all police mishaps, it's an "accident". In the US though you can get shot by the police for not putting your hands on the steering wheel when they pull you over, friend of my mom died that way. Big deal, he pulled a gun on them which he had no right to have in the UK so he got shot, I would have done the same if someone was pointing a weapon at me.

But yeah I've only seen news about this on the tv in a foreign language so I haven't caught all the details 😉

Things are getting pretty nasty........

In London they had 16000 police out last night, the rioting was not as bad there, but in Birmingham and Manchester and Liverpool it was BAD.

Locals are now forming vigilante groups to protect their streets, football club supporters, Muslims, Sikhs, Turkish communities, you name it. Last night in Birmingham 3 Muslim men were mown down by a 32 year old in a car who drove through their road block at high speed, hurling them into the air. All 3 men are now dead. Another man was beaten to a pulp and is now fighting for his life. Fires were started in shops, cars torched, windows smashed, shops looted.................it goes on.

There is no actual political stand behind what these hooligans and thugs are doing, they have no view point other than they know they can do it and get away with it for now....the stupid thing is they think wearing a hoodie is covering their identities? Police now have an extensive range of video and picture evidence and are making arrests all the time, the youngest person to be arrested so far is just 11 years old.

As we enter our 5th night of rioting or Criminality as everyone is now calling it 585 arrest have been made, 5 people are dead and one remains critical, many are homeless, many now have no jobs to go to!

Well done yobs, I'm sure your parents are proud, OK you're out there because your parents don't care where you are at 1am in the morning, they probably are proud of the 42" TV you just robbed from a store

Or joining in on the riots, saw a twitter post from an entire family asking for about 150 youths to get their parents to take down oxford street 😛.

I know I know its a serious matter but I honestly think nothing will happen to the looters and now murderers. Slap on the wrist seems most likely, I think the police and politicians will be too scared to do anything else, might set up some more youth centers but thats it.

It doesn't help when a retired magistrate says live on air that kids under the age of 18 are more than likely not to get a sentence, it has to be severe violence or severe sexual activity and a past record to get sent away, if it's their first offence they're home free

Can someone explain to me what's going on (I'm from Miami, Florida) Now you know why I don't know about this.

Yeah, and that's a big problem IMO. The worst they have to worry about is getting sent home in a squad car, it's not like in america where if you break into someone's house they'd kill you, hardly anyone has guns in the UK.

Note that with guns more would probably dead, but its also a factor for more joining in.

I disagree with this massive violence as much as you do, but that's honestly better than the USA where they'd possibly execute them all in many places.

Imagine how bad this would be if it weren't for the gun control in the UK.
