If you've ever used an old graphic style and made it modern, let's hear the process?

When I worked in marketing, there was an art director who went through a phase of using woodworking type. I hated it, and was happy when he moved onto something new. But he was trying to restyle an old graphic look.

Woodcut typography is a fascinating choice. It's rustic, tactile, and carries a historical weight. However, integrating into contemporary design can also be challenging without feeling overly nostalgic or kitschy. Your art director was likely trying to tap into the trend of retro-inspired design while adding a unique twist.
