Obviously the host has to have good uptime and everything needed to run a stable forum, so I'm flexible in that regard. But I do have one strange but necessary requirement.
My current website domain is blocked at work. My current host has my site linked at multiple points. For example my domain is "mydomain.com" but it is blocked at work and it is where I do most of the work on the site. My current host also has my site linked at "mydomain.mycurrenthost.com" which is accessable at work and allows me to do work on the site.
I need a host that offers something like this. So if you have a host that offers something like this could you please provide an example to verify that it works:
Host Name:
Your domain: mydomain.com
Your host provided url: mydomain.hostname.com
I don't want to move to a new host and not be able to go onto my site at work as work can be quite slow most days, and that makes for a boring work day.
As I said, if I pick a host you provide I would be more than happy to use your referral link.
Try DirectSpace.net. They offer shared hosting at extremely low prices. If that dose not work you can try Host Polar(Contact me if you go with them please).
I'd suggest hawkhost, if you can't get in use a website proxy if that doesn't work then use Ultrasurf a software proxy worked for a long time at my school until the admins found out.
You can try hawkhost. They have great, affordable hosting plans and their uptime is superb! take it from someone who was truly in the same boat as you. I've gone through MANY hosts and headaches until I've found hawkhost and I wouldn't trust another host over them to be honest. They (in my opinion) are the best and I couldn't be happier. 😀
Edit: I would like to point out, do not use hostgator. I've been with them before and they are horrible, their tech support is also horrible. Avoid at all costs. Once again, hawkhost is your best bet.
I agree with DarkGizmo. Big companies like those suck, most of them center around the money and prices, and less on support. You should try small hosting companies, like Pluto Hosting and Empires Hosting, as they center more on support than pricing. I'll inquire about your needs.

I don't see why most hosts can't do this tbh, it's quite simple and im not even a hosting guru. Anyway ive had experience with iPage, their not bad but very annoying when it comes to requesting support.
