Could something like http://adf.ly/ work for you?

the pay out for that site is too low, does anyone make money off that site? have you ever used on of the smule apps on the iphone, such as magic piano, you gain credits on the app, you have to watch a video, once the video is complete, smule gives you 5 credits for free. The ad network they use is called flurry, but their network is exclusively for ios devices

I have made $1.42 from ad.ly for 912 views. Its quite easy to get clicks on your links, especially if you are active on a forum and have a link in your signature.

Things is only idiots click Adf.ly links on purpose, and the rest are just accidents. They're stupidly annoying and people will hate you for using them.

has anyone else got any suggestions? you cant really build a sustainable business for 5$ peer 1000 click

Just use normal ads. Problem solved. Are you trying to make a living off of a forum?

Alternate ways can be asking users to do surveys before they visit the website/download your files. Check sharecash/fileice..

Those sites are also annoying as hell. You're just going to piss more people off.

I'd rather put advertisements in specific areas on my site as apposed to making people have to view an advertisement to view a certain page of the website.. It would make you lose traffic, tbh.

This is extremely true. Why do you think that no major site does this?

For exactly the same reason that I stated, it makes you lose traffic.

I feel the key to a successful site is making money while not annoying your users or causing them to do anything extra. In regards to the survey suggestion, what use is earning $0.40 (for example) per survey if only 1 person completes it a day? You may earn more than that with normal text ads or banner ads.

Sometimes more traffic with a smaller profit per user is better than a bigger profit per user but less traffic. You will struggle to make a site successful if you make members of people they direct to your site jump through hoops to do what they want. There is so much competition on-line nowadays that people will just go elsewhere.

People think that if they use types of ads which gives them the highest payout is best but in reality they may earn far more by using less intrusive advertising that pays out less.
