Hello, I'm looking for an anti-virus software:

*using minimum RAM
*looks modern (GUI)
*free, but can be paid if it is good

Thanks 🙂

I been using AVG Antivirus free 9. It uses very little RAM and CPU resources according to Windows Task Manager, and has an easy to use and modern looking Graphical User Interface.

I might try that, but is it good? Does it detect viruses?

Once I tried it and it didn't find any viruses. Then I tried other antivirus and I found a lot of viruses!!

I would suggest against avg. IT has been giving to many false positives latly.

If you want a lightweight one clamwin is your choice.

I would suggest avast with silent mode enabled.

Then install maleware bytes for anything that avast misses.

Avast 5 Antivirus has not failed on me for about 3 years 🙂

So far 0 threats....with AVG.

And that's just impossible... :/
No it isn't.. If you know how to surf the web safly and tech savvy you do not need any anti malware tools.

I've been using Eset NOD32 for couple of years now and I must say that it never let me down so far.
