How about sending a newsletter out to members if you have that facility? Perhaps just an update about the problems and letting people know they're fixed now and encouraging them to come back.
Good luck!

Sending out a mailshot always does wonders.

But I wouldn't just plead with them to come back, make a big update (new design, for instance) and give some sort of incentive to return.

forgot to say i also gave the forum a new design, genre change and better forums

I'm not sure what you mean by that, can you please explain it? Perhaps you meant "conversion"?

Yes thanks for correcting me i have fixed it we got 1000 posts in a month it should be easy ask them to visit again

Oh so your forum suffered from down time. This is generally easier to fix. Let them know it's all running well again! I echo what others say, send a mass email out and kick it off with a little welcoming back party!

Cool Thats a good idea one prob some members used fake emails before you didnt have comifrm it in your inbox but now you do for secuity reasons also that reason?

Being inactive for a while usually shows that you're not a determined administrator. Try posting threads and replying to topics yourself.

im normally on 4 hours a day but posting new threads is a good idea!

Activity won't always be the same, you'll find that different events, time zones, etc. will affect your activity, for example:

- Whether or not it's the weekend.
- School holidays.
- Timezone.
- If the user has time to be on your forum.
- If you even offer anything good on your forum.

etc.

Just stick it out.

Also it's loss.

Your type of niche is really hard, as there are heaps of forums already. Think of something unique. 🙂

Im sorry but that's so rich coming from you, what's unique about your gaming forum? There's heaps of gaming forums too. I don't see anything unique on your forum, so don't tell people what to do when you don't even do it yourself.

there also heaps of promotion forums is FP Unique? i also offer lots of uinique features like ability to make yoiur own contest

There's no such thing as unique, every idea is copied from somewhere/someone no matter what (unless you want to go back hundreds of years) however there is such a thing as creativity and this is what makes something seem 'unique', that's what people need to realize and work on.

Anyway as for your 'make your own contest' thing being unique, well it's not, ive seen it plenty of times.

i made that feature in my head never thought someone else had it i will try to find another unique feature that noone has

-- 06 May 2011, 19:59 --

good point i should find another unique feature

Spudster the make your own contest idea sounds interesting. Do you have a link to where I can view more info on that on your forum?

good point i should find another unique feature
I used to use that for my forum, it's not a unique idea and I took inspiration from another site that did it who probably took the idea from another site.

Have you sent out a mass mail? Do you have any money? Run a contest, and then send out a mass mail, that way users will come back. So your site, was down? If that's the case, write more content, and ask users questions to get things flowing again.

I know I moved to my VPS, I lost 20 members that logged in daily, but I'm climbing back up again. :great:

Thanks im trying my best to climb backup most of the staff members stayed im going to ask them if they can help
