So guys all my hours of hard work on my forums have gone wasted... Heres how...
So I was changing my host over to justhost as with my old host I would have about an hour of downtime at possibly the busiest time of night for me... So I decided to switch and I backed up my forum ready for the change over. But somehow, thanks to an expired windows 7 beta OS, I managed to lose/corrupt my backup file. I then changed over and moved my forums to forums.gamercity.co.uk and tried to import the old mysql file to find out it has been corrupted or something. So now all I have is a forum with 1 member and no posts. 🙁 Although I do have a new domain name and theme which should hopefully help me out! But honestly everyone else learn from this: Backup more than a few times when you are doing something like this...
Anyway now I am just going to set about trying to remedy the situation and start again! I am going to make these forums better than ever! If by the end of March I do not have 1000 posts I will make sure that by the end of April I will have 2,500! 😀 That is my goal and I will reach it! 😀
So please guys can you help me out? Register and post a few things up and help me get to my goal! 😀 I will hopefully have my structure all laid out by the end of the hour and hopefully a new banner by the end of the day! 😀
In terms of traffic this shouldn't affect me too much as I didn't get that much SE traffic anyway. Although hopefully this will change and my forums will become as visited as my site 😛
P.S I will pm all those who this affects - posts exchanges, affiliate deals etc... 😀
