So Lrnit has some news things to report!

1. I am now co administrator of Lrnit.org!! Whooo! No..just me?
2. Lrnit has had a complete overhaul! The forums have been reorganized so everything is easier to use.
3. Lrnit.org is in a official partnership with the Bourne Times!
4. Lrnit.org is now allowing you to redeem L-points for gift cards.

Thats all I have for now!

May I suggest that next time taking over a forum you don't just send every registered member a password reminder. My first reaction when I receive a password reminder I didn't request is malicious activity - as is most people's. I only came across this topic whilst checking the legitimacy of your site, it probably won't be long before there are topics listed on page one of Google questioning if your site's infected with malware. Sterling work you've done there on boosting your reputation!

If I was ever planning on using your forum (I don't even remember registering there tbh) I most certainly wouldn't now. Your underhand tactics have certainly lost me as a potential member, and probably most of the others you used the same tactic with.

Silly thing is if you'd just sent me an email saying you were relaunching I'd have checked the place out & stuck around for a bit - I have a bit of a soft spot for helping new forums get off the ground normally.

Wait a sec.. I never was in lrnit, how the hell did you find my email? The look was almost just like another forum which I visit pretty often, but wth?

I purchased the website skepticthinkers.com remember? When I became an administrator on lrnit I just used the database for it.

EddieC,

My apologies on that. It was not intended. When i merged the databases together, the sql tables wen't a bit wonky. When i corrected the tables myself, and re parsed them within the admin cp, it sent out a BUNCH of e-mails. I have no idea why, but i got one myself. So please, don't think that was our method of emailing you, because that was never intended at all. As a matter of fact, for any of you who got that " welcome " email, please accept my apologies, and i will do my best to make sure you don't get any further emails of the sort. When i receive emails like that, i to first assume what you did, but i assure you, the site is perfectly safe. On that note, i bit you all a good day 🙂\

Thanks

Can't say I'm massively enamoured with having my personal details added to the database of a site I never opted to join.

Thank you though for at least recognising that I had a legitimate concern though. It's a shame your colleague is unable to provide the same courtesy, the PM I've received from him has ensured that I will never be a part of your site.

Please remove my details from your database.

EddieC,

Most definitely. sorry for your bad experience. 🙁

-- 18 Feb 2013, 14:29 --

Your username, and email have been removed from the database. Again, please accept my apologies.

Thanks a lot, and thanks for dealing with the issue yourself very professionally 🙂

Not a problem at all. I just know how annoying it is, and i absolutely don't want people to get the impression we are out to " steal " there information, or simply spam them hoping to get them to come to a virus. As a linux Administrator, i see it daily. My goal, is just to make sure you guys don't get screwed in the process. Anyhoo enough of that. Enjoy your day EddieC 🙂 Maybe one day we can steal you back over to the darkside, your contribution was quite sufficient on the old forums 🙂

I apologize if my PM was taken as offencive, I simply did not want you to hurt my reputation by posting false information, even if you were unaware I had nothing to do with it.

Jbourne, when you came to announce the announcement you did, he put two and two together. he wasn't questioning the fact that you are trying to provide them with malware, but merely to let you know the tactic that you used was the wrong one. From the end users perspective, it was a bad thing to do. Im sure his intentions were simply to get to the bottom of it. Remember, we had HIS information, he was just concerned. It's cleared up now, so lets not focus on the issue 🙂

-- 18 Feb 2013, 14:48 --

when i say you, im just using it in perspective to be understandable, i of course don't mean literally.
my apologies.
