Lunar Pages is crap. My site was having major downtime. My IP got banned from server for no reason several times. When the site was actually up, the ftp wouldnt work. They have threatened to suspend my account because I was using too many resources.

Please note that the acceptable usage range is 1.0% average %CPU or less, 1.0% average %Memory or less and Top Processes below 20%

I was using maybe 2% and they tell me I should get a dedicated server. Ha! They are funny. Anyways I dont recommend them to anyone. I left.

We had the same problem... Their support is next to useless aswell which makes it even worse.

I could care less about help and support. I just want my hosting account to be up and running at least 97% of the time.

If they didnt shove so many accounts on each server they would have any problems. Of course they dont tell you what the CPU requirements are and they dont have it listed anywhere on their site. They just make up the rules as they go along to fit their needs.
My usage at the time they moved me to the punishment server was:

CPU usage: 2.27
MEM usage: 1.24
MySQL usage: 0.5

Which is not high at all. They had the nerve to tell me:

Your account was utilizing excessive resources, causing a significant degradation of services on the server. This is a shared environment and we can not allow one user to utilize the majority of the resources on a server as it affects all users adversely.

How can an account using 1% memory, 2% CPU and 0.5 MySQL be causing a significant degradation of services? How was my account using the majority of the resources on the server? They are stupid. I am very unhappy with the treatment I received at that host.

They don't really help work with you to solve it... They just hope that you upgrade.

That usage can cause issues on the server only because the server is way to overcrowded anyway. Cirtex are better though.

They claim you can use all the space and bandwidth and stay under the memory and cpu limits but that is just crap in my opinion... Even a static website would struggle.

Because Web Hosts monitor CPU usage per minute. You're allowed to use "X" amount of memory per minute, so if you go over that minute and they find it's happening fairly regularly then you'll be sent warnings. It's not like they're "out to get you", as the whole system is automated. It's the same with every web host. But yes I agree, Lunarpages does suck big-time, which is why I moved over to blueHost. Ok, so their CPU limits are questionable but they have the best support around, so I'm not complaining.

And x = negative 5. (We should be giving them resources as well as our money.. lame attempt at humor)

Yes, Citrex are fast but very unstable. If the server you are on gets DDoSed or some script kiddie starts attacking it I wouldn't expect your site to stay online for very long.

At least they put you on a quiet server with only 70 other people ~smile~

As Murder he Wrote, I also host with BlueHost. I havnt had any trouble with the CPu usage or anything, but then again my site isnt huge or anything, so I cant be certain I wont get warnings in the future. BlueHost support rocks though.

Thats a new server that is why... They only added it about a week or 2 so all new new clients are being added on to it.
