Alright, so the other day on Facebook, my friend put this as his status, "Someone needs to explain to (Name Here) that all M&M's taste the same."

After a 30 comment status conversation, we never reached a verdict. Some of us (like me) think M&M's taste exactly the same but just have a different colored shell. Others thought that each color of M&M have a distinct flavor.

So, what are your thoughts on this? Do M&M's really taste alike, or do they secretly have a different flavor for each color?

You decide.

Interesting, I've never heard this before. But I definitely think they're all the same. It's sugar, colored sugar, and chocolate. I never really looked for different tastes like I would with Skittles!

I did a science project called "Does Color Affect Taste?"

After testing with and without blindfolds, color does affect taste. Without blindfolds, many indicated that the club soda with red coloring was strawberry flavored, and while blindfolded it was said to be club soda.

The answer is no. They all taste the same. However, you may tie the color to another food which may confuse your taste buds.

That sounds so cool! I kind of want to try that with the club soda now...it's kind of like how you expect something to taste bad so it does. I've done that before, like if you have one bad tasting grape you expect them all to taste bad.

I need to check the drug store for some of those. I know someone bought me the pretzel and crunchy ones lately, so maybe the PB ones are still available.

You guys in the US get all the good stuff, here we just plain M&Ms, chocolate or peanut that's it! I think they all taste the same?
Now if you have Smarties, the orange ones DO taste like orange but all the rest ......same

They all taste the same to me. It comes down to how everyone's tastes buds are.

That's interesting, they all taste the same to me. If they do have different flavours then it must be very subtle.
