I am thinking about saving for a new Macbook Air. I am going to buy it off of amazon but it's like $900 lol. Is it really worth the money before I start saving? Here's the amazon link if you want to look. 😛 Click here

I got a Macbook Pro last year (a year ago today actually, according to Timehop) and I love it. It is a hefty price to pay but it so much better than any computer I've used before (all have been Windows). The connectivity/continuity with my iPhone is one of my favorite parts. The care and time that Apple puts into their software and into updating it is perfect too. When there's a bug, it's usually been fixed in the next update.

Also, OS X El Capitan (the new one coming out soon) is going to be amazing, though Yosemite is already pretty great.

Allenafaith I have yet to hear someone say "I wish I didn't spend the money on this Mac." Out of all the computer models out there Apple retains most of its value longer so if you wanted to sell it in a few years and get something else - you will have better luck in getting more of your money back compared to any other brand in my opinion.

I have a Macbook Pro Retina 13" and I absolutely love it. It took some getting used to initially but I adjust in less than a week. If you have an Apple store or a Best Buy near you should play with one as long and often as you can to get a feel for the laptop. I think the MacBook Air is perfect if you plan on taking it with you everywhere you go.

Thats great to hear from both of you! I think I am going to start saving now. My Dell laptop has been falling apart piece by piece and yesterday a piece broke off that holds the screen up so it falls down really easily. I want a computer that I can take places and that is really light weight and that I can use my apple account and connect my iPhone to. I know it will take me a while to save enough money but I think if I work hard enough, I can do it. 😀 I am really excited to get one of these now that I know it's probably the best choice.

I wish I could spend money on a mac..

Most of my friends have some kind of Mac, from the iMac to a Macbook, and they all love it. One of them even dropped it down 2 flights of stairs and it was not even phased. However I don't suggest doing that. 😛

If you can save up the money and go for it, I would highly suggest getting one. They will outlast any PC you get, and you don't even have to do a ton of upgrades to keep the computer fresh. Macbook Air I think would be perfect for you!

I definitely recommend getting one. It's so light and compact, yet powerful all at the same time it was a complete and utter joy bringing it to class everyday. It's such a positive change from haggling a heavy laptop around. I switched several years ago and it's been like one of my best decisions thus far. I had the same MacBook Air from 2011 and it still performs like brand new. I recently gave it away to change my setup a bit (2015 MacBook and iMac), but they're still Macs! I don't regret getting the Air, not even one bit.

I got a friend to make the switch and she's very happy since she no longer needs to perform virus scans at every startup. She saw me using my computer immediately after a quick startup and liked it a lot. Technically, a Mac can get malware, but it's very easy to not get one. Probably by doing things like not installing that garbage called MacKeeper! I upgraded from Lion to El Capitan without needing to do a clean restore, and experienced absolutely no slowdowns whatsoever.

You really get your money's worth and it's a good investment overall, so go for it. If your computer ever encounters a problem be it big or small, you can be sure to get top notch support from Apple – it's part of the premium price you pay for. You get a fluid experience between your iPhone and Mac from features like Handoff to many greats apps from the Mac App Store that works hand in hand with your phone.

I got a Macbook Air 9 months ago and I love it too

I LOVE the MacBook Air! Currently I have an MBP because it fits my needs a bit more (a lot of photoshop) but the MBA is a really good, really solid laptop which I used for years, and it still works great! 😀

I'd recommend saving for the 13 inch version.
