Well this is a very big debate i've been having with myself over the last few days/weeks.

Do I or don't I splash out and buy one of the new ones? What are people's opinions, please vote in the poll above too.

Check the new MacBook Pro with Retina display, it's awesome..

I'm assuming you have an older MacBook model?

I wouldn't get the new one. It's basically the same hardware for a higher price.

The newest MacBook Pro with a Retina display makes pictures and video look very sharp because of the High resolution.

If you plan on using it for video editing, Photoshop, and sound editing on the Go, the Macbook Pro will be good since it also comes with iMovie, Garageband, and other Mac software which is better then Windows Movie Maker, MS Paint, etc.

But, I think a Gaming Windows laptop would be be better for Gaming, Office tasks, and non-multimedia editing tasks.

I beg to differ! how are they basically the same?

Well, not quite. If you don't count the Retina Display version, then sure, it's just a refresh at best, but the Retina Display version does have an improved (but more expensive) display.

Personally, if you have the money, I think the MBP is good. You could always install Windows if you want anyways.

Only problem with the new one is the graphics card is pushed to the max, and I mean to the max.

If you already have a Macbook Pro, I don't really see the need to get a new one. Yes, the software will be upgraded, but one of the best things about Macs is their ability to maintain their value and keep performing even after they are 'old'.

By now we know the speed in which technology advances and buying the latest and greatest in performance is simply a fool's errand. I guess I would have to ask how long you've had your current one?

If it's been forever, you may need an upgrade. Which also works because you can usually sell an old Macbook for a decent price. They are quite the investment, as you well know.

I have heard nothing but good great things about the Retina MBP. If you have the money, buy one.

OR you can go buy TWO laptops that are equally as good if not better, for the price of one Mac.
