I have noticed in some news articles that I read that there are some misspellings. I don't think it's anything that stands out or ruins the entire article for me.

I've seen a few typos in a few news articles. I suppose when you have to proofread a large article, a few typos might slip by lol. This is why it's a good idea to have another pair of eyes looking over your articles if you have a blog.
Most major authors, when it comes to their books, have to go through some major editing and grammar/spelling checks before their book is published. It's not very often you see a book from Stephen King or someone like that with a bunch of typos.
If you do, someone in editing isn't doing their job very well......
One of the local news stations has been awful at proofreading lately. Just the overall formatting and grammar has seriously gone downhill lately, and it's been rough. The other two big ones aren't quite as bad, though they still have a few mistakes in some articles (but no one's perfect!). They're all still readable, but it's definitely not a good look.
Haven't noticed it so much in books or other articles I read, but usually the mistakes are few and far between that it's not really super noticeable. Mistakes happen, even with multiple people reading over things, but there's a point where it just becomes unprofessional and starts to reflect poorly on the writer, the editor(s), and the organization as a whole.
