Have you ever made your own homemade outdoor sign? Such as for a Rummage Sale? If you did, what did you use? I'm thinking of making a few for an upcoming block sale, and the ones on Amazon are too low to the ground. I have some stakes I could use as well as 4 Rebar Stakes.

I am going to look around to see if I have some art canvases that I could use for the actual sign. Should I gorilla glue them to the stakes? Trying to figure that out.

What are your tips?

We’ve bought poster boards at Walmart and made our own signs the few times we’ve had a yard sale. We’ve got all the colors of the rainbow when it comes to Sharpie markers, so they look good enough. I’m not remotely artistic, but it works.

Did you put dates and times on them? I showed a pic to my neighbors and they want the date and times even though we might have rain and have to choose another day. They said, just cross it out and rewrite it, but I hate sloppy, especially when people are traveling fast down our country roads. Simple is better! The signs won't be out after the sale is over anyway.

We’ve always done pretty much as Cam said and got poster board and used a giant sharpie to write that we are having a sale. We would always do it on Saturday and Sunday so we’d put that and then the times which was usually around 7am-2pm.
