Making a good impression!

So one of the things I have noticed in promotion forums is that people "come and go" all the time. They will register to just quickly post their ad of their forum(s). I am here to tell you that it doesn't work so well.

I have seen some very successful forums and the admins of those forums are moderately if not highly active on a promotion forum. I will now give some tips in how to build online forum relationships in Forum Promotion Community Forums. ~wink~

Tip #1
Register on the promotion forum and build up on your profile. Have/design your own custom Avatar, Signature/userbar, etc to put in your profile. Refrain from abusing your signature by slapping ads in their because most the time they don't click them anyways.

Tip #2
After doing Tip #1 (see above) you can now start your first post. This will be your introduction post. This is your first impression on a forum and you need to put a lot of work into it if you want a good rep on any forum. The staff will look at your long intro and think to themselves "This guy is here to stay and not spam."

Tip #3
Make all your posts a minimum of 1-2 sentences so that you don't give the idea your spamming to the staff. (Easy post count)

Tip #4
When advertising your forum make it a decent sized post and use the formatting tools. They are there for you to use and they can make certain text/links stick out more. Make it professional and clean. Also a good tip is to design or have a banner designed to fit the post body width and place it at the top. Great visual aid in a post is to not just have bland text.

Tip #5
Join in on all the discussions in the forums with other members and make online buddies. I have a few that I have known online for awhile. Share tips with one another and help each other out.

Tip #6
All these tips can lead to you getting a staff position on the forums. This is really big and can even improve your hits on your sites/forums. I tend to check signatures and site links of staff members just because they are big on the forums.

Very nice advice. And most of this also goes along with other forums, as well. It's a shame to see why new members will post an ad topic, and not give the forum any more of their time. Should make them wonder why member's won't give his/her forum any time , as well.

even if a forum allows guests, or no post requirement. I still join, and make from 15-20 posts. I just feel guilty posting an ad, then vanishing.

To be honest, during my forum's beginning ... most of my forum was built on that fact that people liked me when i posted around. So, eventually, they took interest in me, and later, what i had to offer on my forum. I've had 100's of members join, with no concept or intention of playing brawl; just the fact they liked me, and liked what my site offered, even if they weren't into the game.


So the moral of my ramble is, lol ... join a forum, get active, and get involved. You'll do better on one forum, making 1,000 posts, then you would, joining 1,000 forums, making 1 ad post on each. 😉

Exactly. Users/members need to start making a good impression here and everywhere else to get a good forum going. It is all about building "trust" that your not going to make a forum and then not do anything or just vanish. ~razz~
