Making a new block - Wordpress blog

I'd like to make a new "block" in the boxed area. Inside I would place a 468 x 60 ad, but first I need to know how to make the "block" so that it blends appropreately with the rest of the blog setup.

I'm using Wordpress 3.x and the Easel theme.

Are you trying to put an ad there or just make a "block" there

@glock - I don't understand what you mean.

I do want to put an adblock (like from chitika for ex) in there but if I just put the adcode in there directly it doesn't look right. I want to know how can I style it so that it will "fit in" properly.
