Making my website unique

Hi everyone!

I am currently working on a political debate website, which is going to be a hybrid blog/forum. I've looked for a decent debate forum for some time now, and while looking I came to the conclusion that they're all bad, dull and boring. I want to try to beathe some air into online debating. It is still in developing stage, so I am currently looking for ideas for features I could have to make my website stand out from the mass. So I wondered, do any of you have any suggestions?

That was the first question. The second is regarding a name. I have no clue what to call my site! It needs to be (at least partly) politically/debate-oriented, but still original; so I'm not looking for PoliticalBB, DebateForums or anything like that. Do anyone here know of the perfect name?

You're in for a hard ride, honestly. You'll have to compete with sites like http://www.debate.org/ who has thousands of active members and debates running constantly. In addition to that, forums are dying a bit due to websites like debate.org who take the topic of a forum and make it extrememly user friendly.

I don't mean to sound demeaning; so I really understand why you're looking for suggestions. Unfortunately, I think sites like the one above have really hit the nail on the head with debates...

Yup, I've looked a bit at debate.org for inspiration. They sure have a good site, but that doesn't mean they should have the monopoly on debate sites without the slightest competition!
