Making progress, finally

I got a LOT of negative feedback about the design on my website. I've never really made a website design before, and I'm not that great with CSS; my website looked like, well, shit (too put it simply).

I want your feedback and tell me which theme you prefer and if I did a good job of improving:

Remove the red from the new one and replace it with a other color.

What you have made in both instances looks like a computer program.. You need to design it so that it doesnt look like a computer program but a simple website.. Dont make a lit of square boxes alot of highlights just made it simple..
