Sometimes it might be better to join in on something else. I mean, of course, there are negative words in our culture like parasite, but then again, it's not really a dirty word. In fact, that's a totally natural way to survive in the natural world or the marketing world. Well, the term parasite might refer to a freeloader, but that's not what's going on.

I always get hold of free or paid software and then run the installer with a clean database to start a site. Well, that's what I end up doing three times, never really brought a site outright

Throughout my tenure of forums, I've joined up with many different sites. That wasn't joining something else but it was merging with another site that was already open to combine forces.

I used to join someone’s forum as staff a lot in my younger teen days. But now I very rarely staff elsewhere. I do support some forums as a member but then again I never give out myself 100%. Only as a staff member or when owning my own forum.

Well, I started blogging by publishing on someone else's website, content farm, or blogging sites to be precise. But I have no desire to do that because you do not have control over your own content.

I've collaborated with others a few times when it came to starting a new forum, which worked out well.
