I want to start managing a gaming forum.
First of all, I need to know how many people are needed to manage such a forum based on your experience. How much would you spend for the forum to succeed and what would be best strategies to take? All I am interested in is managing the marketing and money stuff.
A lot of people always say that it is luck, but I don't really believe that all gaming forums who have succeeded were lucky. Great marketing skills helped them. I mean, IGN forums or Gamespot wasn't the "lucky" part but marketing and tons of money.
Last but not least, I don't have time myself to work on the forum. I was thinking of creating a totally personal forum platform since a client of mine asked me to do.
