If you run more than one forum and/or website, how do you manage your time? Do you find it easy or difficult to juggle? If you're running multiple forums, do any of the forums "copy" each other? I.e using the same (customized) rules template.

I think that it's key to manage your time effectively and not spread yourself too thin, otherwise one community can end up thriving and the other(s) dead or near it. This also applies to owning one community too of course.

I try to keep the paid forum posting on all my forums at an even level while developing. For instance, now I am focusing more posting on one forum so that it will catch up with the other ones.

I usually dont try to run more than one community especially when one forum is in the 'promotion' stage.

I'm the owner of BaysideGamers that I have an full control on running then a manger or also known as admin for dpwsmedia.

Both run IPB and they don't have the same template. they may have the same plugins and some of my own CSS work but the theme and pages and whatnot are different, tend to keep an gaming website as an gaming website 🙂 both websites are partnered

Running more than one community can make your time stretch quite thin, i found that out the hard way many years ago, running 1 community project and service will actually mean you will probably be more successful that trying to run too many as normally is one gets good the other will slowly die away with you not spending time on it unless you have a fantastic team on board with you 🙂

I've ran up to three forums simultaneously in the past but right now I am down to zero. Forums seem to be a dying breed and they are becoming harder and harder to sustain. Not worth the trouble in my opinion at this point in time. Who knows, maybe they will be back in style again one day and if that happens maybe I'll dive back into an admin role if I feel up to it.

Promoting couple of websites at the same time is difficult. Its better to work with one before you promote the other.

Then why here 😛 thought about joining an website and help them to being an staff.

it's not fully dead forums

I was a moderator on a few forums at the same time and that was bad lol. I got talked into helping a community that was in a mess. My loyalty was always with this community that sakugacity is born from though. I wasn't even that into anime tbh, I just really liked the community and stayed with them all these years.

I'm currently a mod on a pretty large game site. Let's just say it's a hell of a lot bigger than FP. I stepped down from the community team recently because while I enjoy playing the game, the forum community is super toxic. Now just a chat mod there. Thing is, I wouldn't really have the time to do more than keep an eye on the chat while I'm there. SC is my priority. Imagine trying to RUN two active sites, let alone contribute as a mod. NOPE!

I currently manage one forum, one public page (community) and one blog. Can't say it's easy, but if you keep yourself interested it can be done. I just try to set simple and small goals daily and write them to my organiser. It keeps me motivated. Works for me (at least for now).

Haha, @Empire. My point was that it's near impossible to do. If you're serious about making one site work, your role on the other might be better off being minimal. It's conquerclub, a risk type game. But as I say, the community is kinda toxic. Upper management don't see the issue, or well even if they do, any activity including bad activity is good activity.
