The car with a manual gear is more economical in terms of fuel consumption. That's a fact according to several mechanics I know. But the downside is the work you do with the pedals particularly the clutch pedal. The automatic car is just like a toy that you use only 1 foot to operate and your hands are dedicated to the steering wheel. And the downside is the expense in fuel consumption. I had my own automatic car since 2013 and I would say that I will stick to automatic.

Always had an automatic car. Yet I never drive before so I just let other family members deal with it in 🙂

Really depends on the driving you do. I love manual for rural driving, but city driving without automatic it gets annoying fast.

I drove manuals for a little over 10 years growing up. However, my Tacoma died, and now I have an automatic. I honestly prefer the manual, because I don't have to deal with crappy transmissions.

i actually still use manual but the next car ill using may be an auto

I prefer having my manual transmission car as it makes me feel that I am actually driving it. Relying on automatic transmissions are just changes in technology.

I drive a manual transmission car because it actually gives me the feeling that I am in charge of the car.

I have two automatic transmission cars at my home. They are easy to drive, but not really that great.

manual transmission makes you feel more active and it keeps you more awake. If you was driving for 180 or more miles you tend to start to full asleep and so manual transmission keeps you active

I have had both, I would stay with manual over auto 100 times.
And also, would suggest anyone that never tried before, try to at least learn, you never, never know when you will need that skill. A couple emergency times in my life had happen, that I had to drive someone's manual car, It is a plus to own that skill even if you prefer driving auto.

I learnt to drive in a manual but I prefer automatic. It's much easier to drive.

I prefer manuals, cause if you ever need to jump start your car, you fine, Autos you cannot

I have a general idea on how to work Manuals, but I prefer Automatics, due to the type of place I live in.

I drive an automatic car. Its just so better than a manual in many ways. I would have to get another license to drive a manual car. Hadn't driven one in years 🙂

I never learned how to drive a stick shift. Every car I've ever had was an automatic. Even the ones that my wife and I own today.
