Who are we: mapMonkeys are a community of gamers who have become infatuated with discovering and sharing glitches, exploits, tricks, and strategies found in the video games they play. Shortly after the release of Xbox 360, a gamer named Iowa Ronin (now mapMonkeys com) had an idea. He asked a fellow XBL gamer named Mr Curry (now mapMonkey) to design this site for us using his amazing web building talents. Thanks to his hard work, not only can you find videos of glitches for your favorite Xbox 360 (and now PS3) games, but there is also a great community. Many others have contributed and are now administrators or moderators. We have recorders, premium members, and normal members that all add to the site's content daily. Although initially the site was created to catalog the many glitches these two gamers and their friends had discovered, it has since grown to include general strategies and tactics, as well as gamer movies and montages. Forums were created and are a great laid back place where members communicate with each other on virtually any topic. There are many other features, but check them out yourself. In no time at all you will - Get to places you never thought possible!
What are glitches?:A glitch is a term used by players to indicate a programming error which results in behavior not intended by the programmers. Programming errors in games vary from incorrectly displayed graphics, game-freezing or crashes, data corruption, and others. The occurrence of some glitches can be replicated deliberately by doing a series of certain tasks in a specific order. Since older video games were written in code, a simple misplaced character could cause a graphical or gameplay-related problem in the final product. Today's games are mainly created using graphical editing programs. In recent years, the term glitch has come to be known more often as an oversight by programmers allowing players to do things and go places that are unintended. Glitching in this sense has become more and more popular, although many gamers find exploiting glitches to be taboo due to concerns that glitching may give some gamers an unfair advantage in multiplayer matches.
