Aston Villa manager Martin O'Neill has been charged with improper conduct.

The charge relates to O'Neill's conduct towards referee Mike Riley following the final whistle at Villa's match against Manchester United at Old Trafford on 5 April.

O'Neill has until 27 April to respond to the charge.

Pathetic. What do you make of it?

If it was Alex Ferguson it would have been a different story, on the other hand if a referee has give decisions in the match the decision has been made and O'neill moaning about it afterward is pointless.

O'Neill was moaning about the length of stoppage time (5 minutes) the refree decided to play at the end of the game...similar to what you said actually, quote: "If it were Villa park we certainly wouldn't have got that long".

I've seen games with players being carried off on stretchers have less stoppage time than that, so he has every right to complain. I think the recent "respect the ref" campaign has had a huge impact on the way games are refereed..and it's not good.

I agree 100%, he gets to shout and ball at refs etc and the most he's given is a "mild" talking to, which to any other manager would be more than "mild".

I think O'Neill will only get a warning. That's what usually happens.

I was puzzled when I seen 5 minutes go up, when I was watching it I was next to a Liverpool fan and he said 'I bet you these get about 5 minutes' and they did. The goal was not scored in the 4th or 5th minute of injury time though, it was somewhere around the 2 minute plus mark.

If referees want respect from coaching staff and players then they have to earn respect, making idiotic decisions is not going to help you get respect.
