Mcafee: The Worst Antivirus?

Do you think Mcafee Antivirus is horrible? Why or why not?

Personally yes. I think it's horrible. I don't feel it does anything. Most of all it slows your computer down to where it'll barely start.

We used to use McAfee when it first came out and it always allowed stuff to get through on our daughter's computer. I hated it!

Recently I had to remove it off of my desktop. It got way way slow and McAfee wouldn't do anything and it wasn't removing malware or adware of any kind.

The only problem I've had with McAfee is the fact they keep doing these stupid updates here and there that get rid of the "shut down the computer when scan is over" option. that made me stop using it 😛

It was never good. Back in the days, there were better alternatives. these days, Windows' built-in antivirus + common sense is good enough.

We have McAfee with this new computer & it seems to be doing okay. A few glitches but I like it better than Norton which let a bunch of viruses through & screwed up our computer. We used to have AVG & they were quite good.

man I didn`t even know thats an antivirus I can only remember its annoying. There is no better antivirus than microsoft defender.

Good or bad. They have some interesting deals. Most new computers have it pre installed.

Had to sell it while a tech at Staples, hated it and tried to pair it with malwarebytes to make it a decent offer.

I've always considered it as bloatware and make it a point to uninstall it whenever I set up a new computer which tends to be the case when I help onboard new employees at work. Windows has a pretty decent antivirus software already. I don't like McAfee just because it feels so intrusive. Whenever I do purchase antivirus software it's usually Webroot.
