Members who post too much

Like most have said if it is just spam posts or just replying with cool or awesome and not contributing to the topic than it would bother me some. I would see them as a post whore. Yes it is nice they are posting a lot but at the same time it diminishes the quality of the forum overall.

If they post a lot and contribute to the topics than I would have no problem at all. Like someone else said better than posting too little.

What would you all consider too much and too little though?

Yes and no - I appreciate all posts really, but I do have one member who blatantly post whores to keep her post count high. Like one time, I opened a thread she'd made that had 17 replies, and every single one was herself, just adding more to the thread. That kind of thing is just pointless.

I would just plainly consider that as spam xD

I have one particular member at my forum who MUST have all the attention of the other members. She gets almost crazy if she doesn't get attention.

They're a really great member in all other respects haha - I just merged all the posts together and made a joke about it 🙂 she hasn't done it since, sometimes just a hint that you know what they're up to does the trick!

I think as long as the posts are decent and aren't just spam or contributing absolutely nothing to any topic or discussion, I see no issue for how much someone posts on a board. If they're enjoying themselves, causing no harm, and allowing others to get engaged in discussions, what's to complain about it?

Offline you get really chatty people this converts to a frequent poster onliner, not a problem imo as long as they're not spamming

We hid post counts from the thread pages on LowISO. We display reputation points publicly 😀 I feel that this is the encourages quality content and removes the incentive of "post count" for posting.

just shows who much they care for the community, and how dedicated they are. Every forum needs at least a few of these kind of people. xD

if it's pure spam, then that's another story altogether. xD

no. There is no limit. I do the exact same thing. It sets a good example, actually. Shows that the owner/admin wants to interact with other members, which is a good attribute.

As long as every forum section doesn't display the most recent poster as the same person, it's all good.

I generally don't join forums that have one member making most of the posts, and if that's the admin it's even worst.

As long as the posts are on topic I don't have a problem with how much someone posts. If they want to be active and participate constantly in the community, they are free to do so. I'm sure many administrators, especially on newer forums, appreciate these kind of people.

Exactly. Send me the active members if you don't have what to do with them!

what's wrong with that? at least they're contributing as much as they can.

Honestly as long as it is good content then I have no problem with it. If they are just posting to boost their post count though, then that's a different story.

I think if it's quality, or acceptable, you just have to treasure these people. Plus these can be an incentive to get more people involved to balance out the site. Sometimes you as the owner get involved. A little fire lit behind you never did any harm.

The poster is doing what others should be doing. I would say, generally, don't discourage the contributor but encourage those that do not contribute.

Well...as long as their posts are good,it's fine >.>
No matter how you look at it,we can't possibly say anything about that user now.Can we? ^^

It depends on their posts, I wouldn't want a whole bunch of spam posts showing up on my forum, but if they are posting quality posts throughout the forum then I have no issues with that at all. I wouldn't even mind if it's just in one section, well besides the forum games section. 😛

If members are constantly posting threads just to raise their post count, I'd have a problem with it, but if they are legitmate posters who care about the subject and are looking for responses, I have no problem. A member who posts a lot means others will join into their conversations and that equals more activity.
