Is it alright for a man to cry? Does this make him less of a man or feminine?

Everyone cries, I don't think it makes him less of a man :shrug;

Everyone has the right to cry, doesn't make a man less of a man in my opinion.

Why should gender have any affect on someone's right to cry? A man who cries may be more feminine than men who don't, but that's a good thing in my eyes.

IMO, a man is more of a man if he can cry. Not after a sappy romance movie, but at funerals, or when a baby is born. If a man holds his emotions in in a time of grieving, he is less of a man, and more of a coward in my eyes.

Crying is perfectly normal. If you say you dont cry, then your probably not human...I cry sometimes.

I think it's okay as I cry sometimes. 😛 It's not much though and it's not around people I don't know.

Some times crying reduces the stress. Cry is common to all human beings. So Every one has the right to cry....

Saying that guys shouldn't cry is sexist.

Couldn't have put it better myself.

I agree with you.

I find it pathetic when a man gets criticized for crying.

Took the words right out of my head.

I think its perfectly fine for a man to cry in certain situations. If a man is a drama queen and just sheds tears about the littlest things, then it might be excessive.

That's probably a reason men die quicker then women. We don't deal with our emotions, we ignore them. All that turns in to stress, and that sh*t will eat you up inside.

I cried my eyes out for weeks when my mom died. That was the only time in my adult life that I ever cried. Before then I would have probably said that man crying would be a wussy, but now I have a different outlook. If you are overtaken by raw emotions and need to let them out, then let by all means let them out.
However dont go crying over an insult or not getting your way. Thats just childish.

I'd prefer a man to be able to cry in front of me. I don't like how some men think they have to bottle up their emotions to be 'macho'.

I personally think it's sexy when men cry (for good reasons of course) like over babies or romantic situations or sappy movies. For us women we like to see a man has a heart, yes a strong and protective man but also a sensitive and caring one. I think it's wrong to teach young boys that "big boys don't cry".

I think it takes a real man to shed tears. That's just my personal opinion.
