Meteor Crash in Russia

I'm watching it on the news right now. I can't imagine how terrifying it must have been to just be lounging in your office, and have the windows shatter all of a sudden. The pictures of the meteor are very beautiful though.

Was this the one that was apparently big enoght to destroy london?. :O

I could've sworn the meteor didn't crash...it was just in the atmosphere and it's forceful waves were hitting Russia, and it's debris was falling.

If it crashed, that city would be a crater. 😉

Read the article :

A meteor crashing in Russia's Ural mountains has injured at least 950 people, as the shockwave blew out windows and rocked buildings.

Huh, thanks for clarifying that Marc. I didn't know it landed.

Yeah Chris, man that is fast...

That's largely why so many people were injured. The sonic boom came a little bit after the meteor was seen trailing across the sky. When it started lots of people went to their windows to look out and see what was happening. Then the sonic boom happened and the windows exploded in on those who were looking out.

It's amazing and frightening to think that these meteors are flying about all over space and what could happen if one of them were to hit a city directly.

The moon takes a great deal of 'em for us. Isn't that a bit crazy?
