When I set up my computer I used my work email address for my Microsoft Account that is connected to my Windows License. I had forgotten about that and when I quit my job I could no longer access that email account. Do I have any options in order to change it since I can't get into the email to verify?

As long as you remember your password and email address I do not see why not to try and log into the account 🙂 Even if you forgot the password you can reset it.

DO you have other verification methods, like SMS text or goes to another email address.

It was a work email account and that no longer exists once I quit the job. So I can't log in and this was set up before other verifications were an option.

Yes, I've done this before as part of my job. (Many of my clients are seniors, so forgotten passwords are a very common problem.) Once we are past a certain point as far as options, it just has to be left in the hands of Microsoft Support. The thing to remember there is to have a very consistent platform from which to request; it's best done from a desktop using a private email address, which makes for a consistent IP and consistent, not-easily-spoofable address.

The reason I chose my work email is because I could use more of what Microsoft had to offer at the time that I couldn't use with a private email.

Did you try adding another admin account ? You can do that as long as you are able to log in locally using an ID and password. Once you are through, you can simply skip the work email based account.

Thanks! I had another email on the account and it finally, after all these years, allowed me to change my primary to the other email account without having to go into that work email account. Now I was also able to remove the work email. Funny how I couldn't do any of this 4 years ago.
