Microsoft acclaimed that it is investigating one other fault in Internet Explorer. This time it is the case of a vulnerability, which could result in an unofficial disclosure of information for users running its browser on older operating systems.

The software maker said in a security advisory that, although there is nothing known about the attacks based on the flaw, the susceptibility could lead to a Web-based attack from either a Web site designed for taking advantage of the flaw or from a site, which becomes compromised through a user-generated text or some kind of malicious advertisements. In any of the ways, a user would have to actively go to the compromised Web site.
